Acknowledgements

The evening after my website was launched, I started reading a new book. As is my habit with each new book, I was reading all of the peripheral stuff first. I like to get a feel for who the author is and where she is coming from before I start a book. So I read the dust jacket, the preface, the Acknowledgementsintroduction, the forward and the acknowledgements. By the time I started reading the actual book, I was too tired to keep my eyes open and I went  to sleep, leaving the reading of the contents of the book for another day.

Anyway, it got me to thinking that I would like to write an acknowledgements page for my website. There have been so many people along the way that have helped me and gotten me to this point and I want to acknowledge them in print. First of all, I want to acknowledge you if you have gotten this far in your reading of these acknowledgements. You are like me and I like that about you.

There have been so many people who have helped to get me to this point. There are so many people without whom I never would have gotten this far, that I don't know where to begin. I suppose that any list of acknowledgements must start with Julia Rudden, my daughter-in-law, who bravely started this project before I was even fully on board and before I had any concept of where this could take us. She kindly provided the impetus for this project and demonstrated for me the potential of what could be accomplished with a website.

I want to thank Heather Flanagan, my daughter and best friend, and the source of my most constant support, encouragement and approval. Heather is a Certified Life Coach.

AcknowledgementsI want to thank my son, Timothy Flanagan, for his shrewd editorial eye, his candid assessments and his shameless enthusiasm when a plan finally comes together. Break out the cigars! Tim is the Statistics Editor for the Reference Product Group at Microsoft. You can visit one of the websites he works on at http://encarta.msn.com/.

I want to thank the members of my website dream team. These people agreed to serve as consultants. They read rough drafts, previewed photos, shared their reactions and gave sage advice. In addition to the aforementioned family members, the members of my website team were as follows: Karen Joy Campbell, LCSW, Doug Cooley, Donald Dodson, PsyD, Matt Garrigan, Myra Lavenue, Wayne Johnson, Steve Rubin, PhD, and Aaron Tinling. A special thank you to Aaron Tinling who was my most constant responder and always with extremely helpful ideas and perspectives that have truly helped to make this an exceptionally complete and accessible website.

I can go no further without thanking Larry Clyman, my website designer. As you can see for yourself, he produces amazing results. What you can't see, that is equally true, is that he is steadfast, a good shepherd who guides and directs with kindness and clear communications and he is very quick about getting things installed once her receives the materials he needs. I cannot imagine a more desirable website designer. I highly recommend him if you ever have the need. You can visit his web site at www.guerrillawebsites.com.

I cannot thank Larry without also thanking Diana Haskins, Certified Professional Coach, for introducing me to him. You can visit her web site at www.dianahaskins.com.

AcknowledgementsI want also to thank all of my clients for the many lessons that they have taught me about life and about how to be a better therapist. I want to thank them for their affirmation of my work, and for trusting me and sharing their lives with me. I want to especially thank all of those who have participated in my therapy groups over the years for showing me what they needed and for giving me the original reason for getting started writing all the articles that I have written and am continuing to write. A very special thanks goes to JW, whom I will always hold in my heart with deepest affection. For it was he who gave the initial push and guidance that got this ball rolling, by sharing with me his leadership design tool that I continue to use as the format for our group sessions.

I would also like to acknowledge all of the other people who have helped and encouraged me over the years. It is an awesome assembly of souls. Regrettably I will not be able to recall all of them, but here is a good start. I want to thank John Anderson, Debbie Averill, Joe Bailey, Cora Bamford, Maria Blagaila, Simona Blagaila, Ed Block, Fred and Betty Brace, Wendy Willison Braden, Jim Breedlove, Madelon Brodie, Jim Bryson, Opal Carter, Katherine Clark, Maribeth Collins, Harry Cook, Ralph Crawshaw, Lew Curtis, Roddy Daggett, Duane Dale, Laurie Davis, John Dellenbach, Mary AcknowledgementsJane Dellenbach, Jeannette Dezsofi, Dana Diller, Clint Eastwood, August Ebele, Peter Escheway, Pauline Flanagan, Scott Flanagan, Dewey Gail, Bob Goodman, Heather Hanson, Sam Harbison, Carol Shepard Harrington, Chuck Hawkins, Molly Henry, Jim Henson, Tom Hogan, Jodie Hoogendam, Harvey Horne, Bernice Hurwitz, Doris Jewett, Wayne Johnson, Elizabeth Lavenue, Myra Lavenue, Kathleen McCaslin-Ward, Nancy Michalson McCaulley, Donald Mann, Sally Martin, Willa Merritt, Lynn Palmer, Anna Quenelle, John Riles, Dick Robertson, Steve Rubin, Terumi Sasaki, Pat Smith, Pamela Stacey, Brenda Stevens, Sam Swaim, Charlotte Sweet, Stan Sweet, Patty Taylor, David Turner, Nancy Turner, Mary Vandenberg, Anita Wahl, Bethanne Wall, Herb Willison, Paul Willison, and Nila Wimmer.
